What is CompTIA A+ Certification?
Since 1993, the Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) has set the standard for measuring competency among IT professionals.
From its first certification exam – which was designed around computer repair and maintenance – to today’s suite of comprehensive exams, CompTIA certifications help define excellence in computing support.
If you are considering a career in information technology, CompTIA credentials are among the most widely recognized by technology companies and service providers.
Within the family of CompTIA certifications, the CompTIA A+ is designed specifically for those getting started in their IT careers. It provides an overall perspective on the IT landscape and delves deeply into the core technologies that drive computing in the 21st century.
About the CompTIA A+ Exam
From its inception, the CompTIA certification represents professionalism and hands-on expertise. At the beginning, the CompTIA focused on installing, maintaining and repairing the equipment that made computing possible. Today this still rings true, even as technology evolves.
Of course, computing in 1993 was a lot different than it is in 2020. But, the CompTIA A+ exam keeps pace with these changes. CompTIA revises the exam series regularly to make sure it tests the skills and competencies for premium quality IT and computing support.
The CompTIA A+ certification addresses performance-based topics and questions that prove you can think on your feet and solve problems in real-time.
Essentially, CompTIA A+ certification assures your employer that you are qualified as the “go to” person to install, maintain and protect IT infrastructure and assets.
