Jolene J. Advanced in her Career After Taking Two Excel Courses
Jolene J. took our Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2013 and Intermediate Microsoft Excel 2013 courses. She was able to put what she learned to use in her career right away!
Jolene’s ed2go Story:
I took two classes of Excel through the ed2go website. I knew something about Excel but not nearly all that it has to offer. I found that taking the course through ed2go was the best way for me to learn. I first entered the site and read about the instructor. Right away, he seemed like a nice, knowledgeable man!
After I signed up, I read through the first lesson and did all that I was told to do. All of the students were on different learning levels. No matter what expertise we already had, the instructor was patient and answered our questions so we could all understand. He also gave students the opportunity to help others in the class and made each of us feel that our individual learning processes were important. I felt comfortable asking ANYTHING I did not understand!
After several lessons, I decided to try what I had learned at work. I wanted a more visual way to express my information, so I took what I had learned from the class and made a chart. I was so proud that I shared it with my supervisor. She asked if she could use it to take to the staff meeting and also to show the auditors!
Some of my coworkers had just finished a college class of Excel and I knew they weren’t utilizing the kind of information I learned from ed2go! I had not even finished the class yet and already found ways to utilize my newfound knowledge. I really like spreadsheets and am already nicknamed the “Spreadsheet Queen” at work!
Since deciding on taking an Excel course, I had been contemplating on doing a side business and had tons of questions. The lesson on “What If” really caught my attention. I never dreamed that Excel had all the features it does. I entered some information in the “What If” section and got answers that normally would take days to figure out (assuming I could even find the answers online)! Another nice feature of the ed2go class was that I could look back to my notes and remember how to do something step-by-step. I really liked that the online class conveniently allowed me to print out the lessons for future reference.
I found that taking an ed2go class is cheaper than college courses and takes less time. It was less than a 1/3 of the cost of my local college! On top of that, there was no additional book charge. I also learned, from an experienced instructor, the information that would benefit me the most. I loved that the lessons were adjustable to my personal schedule and have been able to share several skills with my coworkers since taking the course.
When I searched for an Excel course that was right for me, I was after knowledge. And guess what? I did not need a college credit to obtain it! ed2go was definitely the best way for me to learn!
