Ro’s Experience in the ICD-10 Medical Coding Training Program

Despite many obstacles, Ro D. completed our ICD-10 Medical Coding career training program, became certified in medical coding, and entered the healthcare industry! Just an FYI for those of you interested in medical coding, the ICD-10 medical coding system will be mandatory by law throughout the healthcare industry in less than 100 days!

Ro’s ed2go story:

I’ve just crossed over the finish line of one of the most challenging and enjoyable ed2go career training programs I’ve taken – ICD-10 Medical Coding. Just two days after I signed up for this program, I took a serious fall. There was the major surgery, hospital stay, and months of physical therapy I had to face while enrolled in this program. I knew it was not going to be easy and there would be obstacles, but I had a goal of successfully completing this coding program and obtaining my completion certificate.

Keeping my dream of earning my medical-coding certificate alive meant so much to me. Thanks to my wonderful and caring facilitator, Carline Dalgleish, who encouraged and supported me every step of the way, I made it to the finish line! I can happily say, with her reassurance and faith in me, I did it! I achieved my goal and now have my Completion of Training Certificate. What a GREAT feeling!

This medical coding program reached beyond my expectations and has been a thought provoking learning experience. Every once in awhile, you take a course that leaves a lasting impression- it’s that outstanding! This definitely describes ICD-10 Medical Coding. After completing this course, I have a broad knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding. This program has also prepared me well to enter the high-demand healthcare industry as a medical coder! I can’t wait to put these new skills to use. My next goal is to become a Certified Coding Associate (CCA). Enrolling in the ICD-10 Medical Coding training program was, unquestionably, one of the best career decisions I’ve made!

What made this course so great and extraordinary was Carline’s passion for ICD-10 and the enormous amount of time, work, and energy she’s devoted into making the course successful.  She has succeeded in making this challenging subject interesting to learn, informative, motivational, and has infused it with her positive sense of humor. I was inspired by her expertise, intelligence, and contagious enthusiasm. There are some instructors that you remember and cherish for a lifetime – Carline is one of those instructors! She helps students reach their full potential and it’s a good feeling to know that future students will have the advantage of her expertise, support, encouragement, and passion for teaching ICD-10. She’s touched my life possibly more than she realizes and I’m so thankful and proud to call her “my friend.”

In concluding my ed2go story, if I had to select one word to describe this career training course it would be, “unforgettable!” Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions you make for your future. It’s important to love what you do and never stop learning.
